What Is a Dental Emergency?

Severe Pain

Toothache that keeps them awake or causes crying.

Knocked-Out Tooth

A permanent tooth knocked out is a critical emergency.

Trauma / Infection

Swelling, bleeding, or broken teeth from falls/sports.

What To Do Before You Arrive

👶 Knocked-Out Baby Tooth

DO NOT reinsert the tooth.

Reinserting a baby tooth can damage the permanent tooth growing underneath. Apply pressure with gauze to stop any bleeding and call us immediately.

🦷 Knocked-Out Permanent Tooth

TIME IS CRITICAL.

Find the tooth. Hold it by the crown (top), NOT the root. Rinse gently in milk (do not scrub). Keep it in a cup of milk or saliva and come to us immediately.

Same-Day Emergency Appointments

We reserve time daily for pediatric dental emergencies. If your child is hurt, please call us immediately so we can prepare for your arrival.
